De vader van Jason, koning Aeson, werd vermoord door zijn oom Pelias toen hij nog klein was. Zijn oom trouwt vervolgens met zijn moeder. Hijzelf zou ook vermoord worden, maar dat wordt verhinderd en hij wordt door anderen opgevoed. Nu is hij 20 en wordt hem de waarheid verteld. Hij keert terug om zijn troon op te eisen, maar Pelias laat zich niet zomaar van de troon stoten. Hij veroordeeld Jason tot de dood, maar geeft hem 1 kans zijn leven te redden: het gulden vlies zoeken.
Nee, helaas is Jason and the Argonauts nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
