De Alpen, hartje winter. Meerdere notabelen uit de streek worden thuis dood aangetroffen. Het hoofd van de politie, Thomas Delhaye, wordt met het onderzoek belast. Om het onderzoek op gang te helpen, besluit hij Juliette Hémon voor enkele dagen vrij te laten, die voor een gelijkaardige zaak in de cel zat.
