George Malloy ziet op zijn verjaardag aan een bar een vreemd licht. De dagen die daarop volgen blijkt hij erg intelligent te zijn geworden. Hij gebruikt zijn intelligentie om goeie dingen in de buurt te doen. Wanneer dit doorgeroddeld wordt, raakt Malloy bekend als een freak en wil iedereen uitzoeken hoe dit kon gebeuren bij een simpele automonteur. Het gaat zelfs zo ver dat de regering hem wil gebruiken.
Nee, helaas is Phenomenon nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
