Tiener Franklin verlaat de psychiatrische kliniek na een zelfmoordpoging. Zijn vader Chuck is altijd afwezig geweest en stond nooit voor hem klaar. Familieverwaarlozing is dan ook de reden waarom hij niet langer meer getrouwd is met Diane. Franklin besluit daarom zijn vaders toegang te blokkeren tot al zijn sociale media-accounts. Chucks werkvriend Jimmy adviseert hem om een nepaccount aan te maken, zodat Chuck contact kan maken met zijn zoon. Daaropvolgend maakt hij op Facebook een profiel aan met foto's van de aantrekkelijke serveerster Becca, die bij zijn plaatselijke restaurant werkt
