Jodie Carpenter is de eigenaar van 'The Loft', de zeilmakerij van haar familie, die gelegen is aan Redmond's Bay Marina. Wanneer projectontwikkelaar Charles Prescott het jachthaventje koopt en compleet wil moderniseren, vreest Jodie dat haar bedrijf plaats zal moeten maken. Ze probeert Prescotts architect, Will Calvin, te overtuigen van het historische en sociale belang van de jachthaven, die ook het hart van de gemeenschap vormt.
