Blair Maynard (Michael Caine) is journalist en wil een reeks verdwijningen van toeristen in de Bahama's onderzoeken voor zijn werkgever. Hij neemt zijn 12-jarige zoon Justin mee. Ze huren een piloot en zijn gammel vliegtuigje in, maar storten neer op een groot eiland, waar de lokale politieagent hen oppikt. Maynard en zijn zoon vallen kort daarna tijdens het vissen in handen van een groep bloeddorstige piraten...
