Na vijftien jaar trouwe dienst wordt Henri Boulanger ontslagen bij zijn werk. Hevig ontdaan, probeert hij zelfmoord te plegen, maar dat mislukt. Hij gaat naar een bar, en tekent een contrakt met een huurmoordenaar waarin staat dat deze Henri in de toekomst zal vermoorden op een onbekend tijdstip in de toekomst.
