Esmeralda zit in de Notre Dame tijdens het festival der zotten wanneer de meedogenloze aartsbisschop Frollo haar ziet en verliefd op haar wordt. Hij stuurt de gebochelde klokkenluider Quasimodo van de Notre Dame op haar af om haar te vangen maar het mislukt en hij wordt gevangen genomen. Esmeralda helpt hem als hij gegeseld wordt, maar wordt daardoor gezien als een heks. Op zijn beurt redt hij haar en brengt haar naar de kathedraal en raakt bevriend met de beeldschone zigeunerin. Maar Frollo wil Esmeralda voor zichzelf en zal er alles aan doen om dat voor elkaar te krijgen. Quasimodo doet er alles aan om Esmeralda te beschermen, maar Frollo heeft de steun van de burgerij en Quasimodo is maar in zijn eentje.
Nee, helaas is The Hunchback of Notre-Dame nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
