In 1921 vervoerde de stoomboot Santa Isabel 260 Spaanse emigranten naar Amerika, toen zij vlak voor het eiland Salvora zonk in Galicië, Spanje. Slechts drie vrouwen van het eiland kwamen helpen en slaagden erin om 50 passagiers te redden.
