Nadat hij uit een instelling in Puget Sound is ontsnapt, verandert 'Stepfather' Gene Clifford zijn uiterlijk met plastische chirurgie en neemt hij een nieuwe identiteit aan: Keith Grant. Keith verhuist naar Deer View, Californië en valt voor een gescheiden schooldirecteur, wat de argwaan wekt van haar rolstoelgebonden, computer vaardige zoon.
