Als baby werd hij vanaf zijn stervende planeet Krypton naar de aarde gestuurd met evenveel vragen als het aantal lichtjaren dat hij aflegde. Clark Kent, nu een jonge man in Metropolis, verdient de kost als stagiair van verslaggever Lois Lane bij de Daily Planet, terwijl hij in het geheim zijn buitenaardse vlucht-, super- en röntgenkrachten gebruikt om het kwaad te bestrijden. De jonge held voert bloedige gevechten met de intergalactische premiejager Lobo voordat hij voor zijn leven vecht met de sinistere parasiet. De wereld zal weten over Superman.
