In het jaar 2772 is de aarde en vele van zijn koloniën in verval geraakt. Een klein jongetje genaamd Godo groeit eenzaam op in een hermetisch afgesloten en technisch geavanceerde kamer. Zijn enige metgezel is de vrouwelijke robot Orga die over hem waakt. Wanneer Godo op leeftijd is wordt hij gerekruteerd en getraind in een militair kamp. Zijn baas Rock is onder de indruk van Godo’s capaciteiten en stuurt Godo eropuit om de mysterieuze Phoenix te vangen, een mythisch wezen met de kracht van wedergeboorte.
