Nadat de familie van een man vermoord wordt, krijgt hij een telefoontje van één van de overledenen: zijn nicht Ashley. De man weet op het eerste gezicht niet of hij geesten ziet of dat hij zijn verstand verliest, maar naderhand volgen er nog meer telefoontjes. Deze zullen hem helpen de geschiedenis te herschrijven.
