Het is het jaar 1901. Marcela Gracia Ibeas en Elisa Sanchez Loriga zijn twee lesbische vrouwen en wonen in Spanje. Ze willen met elkaar trouwen, maar volgens de wet is dit niet toegestaan. Elisa neemt de identiteit van een man aan om alsnog met Marcela te kunnen trouwen.
