In 1908 gaat de ooit gevreesde vogelvrijverklaarde Taylon Flynn anoniem door het leven op zijn ranch. Hij schakelt een vroegere handlanger in voor een laatste rit in een wanhopige poging verlossing te zoeken voor de fouten die hij in zijn leven maakte. Zo liet hij zijn dochter in de steek, net als een vriend die hij voor dood achterliet en werd zijn vrouw brutaal vermoord door de misdaden die hij beging. Op weg naar vergelding wordt Taylon tegengewerkt door de meedogenloze baas van een uitstervend mijndorp en een magistraat die een duister geheim verbergt. Taylon moet zijn innerlijke demonen trotseren opdat hij het enige in het leven waarvan hij werkelijk houdt, kan redden.
