1947, Mrs. Watts woont bij haar zoon en schoondochter in, en vooral de laatste maakt haar leven ondraaglijk. Het is echter wel de stimulans die ze nodig had om terug te keren naar haar geboortedorp Bountiful, Texas, een dorp dat nauwelijks op kaarten is aangegeven.
