Oorlogsverslaggever Ernie Pyle trekt op met een infanterie-bataljon dat door Italië trekt tijdens W.O.II. Hij raakt bevriend met enkele soldaten waaronder de heldhaftige commandant. De film verhaalt over de zaken van alledag die hen bezig houden, zoals één van de soldaten die wanhopig een manier tracht te vinden om een bandopname van zijn zoontje te beluisteren en de commandant die nogal onverschillig is over zijn medailles.
Nee, helaas is Story of G.I. Joe nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
