Plot

De jonge Oostenrijkse prinses Marie Antoinette is gearrangeerd om te trouwen met Lodewijk XVI, de toekomstige koning van Frankrijk, in een politiek voordelig huwelijk voor de rivaliserende landen. De weelderige Marie geeft zich over aan verschillende grillen en flirten.
