Een voormalig bokskampioen in de jeugd, Jimmy McCabe, zoekt wanhopig naar vertrouwen maar zoekt op de verkeerde plaatsen. Wanneer hij helemaal aan de grond zit wendt hij zich tot zijn voormalige boksclub en de enige familie die hij heeft achtergelaten: eigenaar Bill, assistent Eddie en promotor Joe.
