Omdat hij zijn paard bij een weddenschap heeft verloren, moet Pat Brennan te voet verder reizen. Onderweg kan Pat meereizen met een postkoets, die gehuurd is door een pasgetrouwd koppel. Bij het volgende paardenuitwisselstation wordt de postkoets echter overvallen door een bende outlaws.
