In de jaren '30 tracht toneelschrijfster Lilian Hellman een carrière op te bouwen met hulp van haar geliefde, Dashiell Hammett. Haar goede vriendin Julia strijdt tegen het Nazi-regime. Lilian gaat bij haar vriendin op bezoek en ziet wat haar idealen haar hebben aangedaan. Julia's vriend vraagt Lilian om een grote som geld te smokkelen, zodat de Nazi's beter bestreden kunnen worden.
Nee, helaas is Julia nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
