Plot

Degenen die in Londen voor het eerst begonnen te swingen op popmuziek werden 'absolute beginners' genoemd. Colin is zo'n 'absolute beginner', en omdat het zijn laatste zomer is als hippe teenager, besluit hij er een feest van te maken. Als hij Suzette ontmoet, het Engelse zeventienjarige antwoord op Brigitte Bardot, is hij verkocht. Als zij haar hart echter verpandt aan een oudere man, staat Colins wereldje op z'n kop.
