Bonnie en Sam zijn tieners die als enigen een vliegtuigcrash in de Amerikaanse bergen overleven. De broer en zus zijn in deze wildernis aangewezen op zichzelf, totdat zij een oude Indiaan ontmoeten die hen naar de bewoonde wereld wil brengen. Zowel beren als stropers vormen in dit afgelegen gebied een bedreiging, waardoor ze de aangeboden hulp hard nodig hebben.
