Race Darnell is ten onrechte veroordeeld tot de doodstraf. Net als vele andere ter dood veroordeelden voert hij via cassettepost correspondentie met vrouwen die hem hun intiemste geheimen verklappen, goed wetende dat hij toch niet meer vrijkomt. Maar als twee van de cassettes die hij naar de vrouwen terugstuurt verwisseld worden, ontvangt Race een vervormd bandje waarop een van de vrouwen ermee dreigt hem te vermoorden. Als Race door nieuw bewijsmateriaal uiteindelijk vrijkomt, wordt hij plots opgejaagd door de anonieme 'stalker' die hem uit de weg wil ruimen. Maar wanneer er enkele vrouwen op een lugubere manier vermoord worden, wordt de politie en de FBI ingeschakeld om Race opnieuw in te rekenen.
Nee, helaas is Letters from a Killer nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
