Het verhaal volgt de eigenzinnige familieleden van de familie Cooper die zich opmaken voor de jaarlijkse viering van het kerstdiner. En naast de chaos die ontstaat tijdens deze kerstavond, worden ze geconfronteerd met levenslessen die hen doen realiseren hoe waardevol een huis vol liefde en gelach is.
