De mislukte actrice Alex Sternbergen wordt op een ochtend met een kater wakker in een appartement dat ze niet herkent, niet in staat om zich de vorige avond te herinneren - en met een lijk in bed naast haar. Terwijl ze de gebeurtenissen van de nacht probeert samen te voegen, kan Alex niet volledig vertrouwen op vrienden of haar vervreemde echtgenoot, Joaquin, voor hulp. Slechts één bondgenoot, de eenzame ex-politieagent Turner Kendall, kan haar helpen aan haar hachelijke situatie te ontsnappen en de ware moordenaar te vinden.
