Twee weken voor kerstmis arriveert een imposante vreemdeling in een Californisch stadje dat door misdaad en vandalisme geplaagd wordt. Misdadigers bibberen van angst en de bevolking schaart zich eendrachtig achter deze man, die beweert de enige echte kerstman te zijn. Alleen Ebner Forst, die misdadige plannen heeft met het stadje, wil voor niets en niemand wijken, ook niet voor deze beresterke Santa Claus.
