Shakespeare's klassieke tragedie is verplaatst naar een fictief Groot-Brittanië in de jaren '30. Een burgeroorlog is uitgebroken, met het Huis van Lancaster aan de ene kant, die de Britse troon opeisen in de hoop de vrijheid te kunnen brengen aan het volk, en het Huis van York aan de andere kant, geleid door de beruchte Richard aan het hoofd van een fascistische regering. Hij hoopt zichzelf aan te kunnen stellen als dictator van het land.
Nee, helaas is Richard III nog niet beschikbaar op Netflix in Nederland.
