Op een zomeravond in New York komen de levens van vijf verschillende mensen met elkaar in aanraking. Isabel, een fotografe, bereidt zich voor op haar aanstaande huwelijk. Haar moeder Diana, een beroemde actrice, ontdekt dat haar man vreemdgaat. Jonathan, Isabels verloofde, tracht een geheim te verbergen dat het huwelijk op het spel kan zetten. Peter, een schrijver voor een tijdschrift is een verhaal op het spoor, waar zijn ex-geliefde een rol in blijkt te spelen en acteur Alec worstelt met liefdesproblemen.
