Amy is een vrouw die alles schijnt te hebben. Een rijke knappe verloofde, een talent voor fotografie en haar eigen plekje in hogere kringen. Alles lijkt voor haar uitgestippeld te zijn, totdat haar vrienden besluiten dat salsalessen haar leven meer smaak zullen geven. Midden in de Latijnse wijk van Houston ontmoet ze de exotische dansleraar Nick. Wanneer Nick Amy uitkiest als zijn nieuwe danspartner, komt ze al gauw onder de betovering van de salsa.
