Ariane, een jonge Franse violiste, is verliefd op Christen, een onweerstaanbare dirigent, en aanvaardt zijn huwelijksvoorstel. Er is echter een “klein” probleempje: ze is zelf nog getrouwd. Ze is twee jaar geleden weggegaan van Nino, een Italiaanse leraar met een uitgesproken karakter. Ze weet hem te overtuigen om haar naar Parijs te volgen en in acht dagen te scheiden.
