Biografie over het leven van Joe Meek, muzikale duizendpoot, die zich vanuit het niets ontpopte als onafhankelijke rock 'n roll-producer. Hij boekte groot succes met het nummer 'Telstar' van The Tornados, de best verkopende single van zijn tijd. Tegen de achtergrond van de jaren '60 wordt het contrast tussen zijn succes en zijn depressie uitgelicht. Naast zijn muziekcarrière was Meek vooral befaamd om zijn fascinatie voor het occulte, zijn flamboyante homoseksualiteit en uiteindelijk zijn merkwaardige dood.
