Socrates is een ex-crimineel die zijn straf heeft uitgezeten. Hij droomt van een rustig bestaan en een normale baan, maar dat is niet eenvoudig met zijn verleden en huidskleur. Als Socrates de jonde Darryl ontmoet, ziet hij in dat tijdens zijn verblijf in de gevangenis, de criminaliteit in zijn buurt alleen maar erger is geworden. Om het goede voorbeeld te geven van zijn slechtste kant laten zien.
