Tuinarchitecte Cate ontmoet de architect Harrison en de twee vallen als een blok voor elkaar. Harrison is bijzonder zeker van zijn zaak. Hij wil Cate al snel aan zijn moeder Evelyn voorstellen om met haar te kunnen trouwen. Evelyn ontvangt op haar landgoed haar toekomstige schoondochter met open armen. Maar terwijl Cate er enkele dagen logeert, duiken er enkele donkere aspecten uit het verleden van Harrison op.
