Donnelly heeft in het ziekenhuis te horen gekregen dat zijn vrouw is overleden. De volgende dag neemt hij de trein terug naar Dublin. Hij gaat zitten tegenover een vreemde jongeman die al snel andere reizigers lastig gaat vallen. Donnelly komt erachter dat hij niet de enige is die recentelijk iemand heeft verloren.
