Glasgow, Schotland. Eve (Emily Browning) ligt in het ziekenhuis om te leren omgaan met haar emotionele problemen. Om beter te worden begint ze liedjes te schrijven. Het schrijven blijkt een goede stap in de richting van genezing te zijn en leidt haar naar de "City", waar ze de twee muzikanten James (Olly Alexander) en Cassie (Hannah Murray) ontmoet.
