Professionele huurmoordenaar Pike wordt door zijn vaste cliënt, steradvocaat Mayhew, gevraagd om de knappe Jordan een "dienst" te bewijzen. Pike stemt toe, aangezien hij nog een rekening te vereffenen heeft met Jordans slachtoffer. Hij bezwijkt voor de charmes van zijn cliënt en realiseert zich aanvankelijk niet dat hij in een val is getrapt die ook zijn leven in gevaar brengt. De politie is op jacht naar Pike, en Mayhew en Jordan spelen vals. Pike staat op de dodenlijst. Tegen de tijd dat hij de verbanden tussen het complot tegen hem beseft, is het te laat.
