De film bevat drie verhalen over verleiding. 1. The Man in the Brooks Brothers Shirt: een journaliste ontmoet een handelsreiziger die haar probeert te versieren. 2. Dusk Before Fireworks: de jaren '20, hij heeft affaires met elke vrouw uit de buurt. Zij is jaloers maar wil haar avondpassie niet opgeven. 3. Hills Like White Elephants: Spanje, 1925, de schrijver en zijn assistente reizen de wereld af. Zij zoekt naar de bergen die op witte olifanten lijken.
