De alleenstaande kunstenares Tomoko onderhoudt een affaire met de oudere schrijver Shingo. Deze relatie is al jaren gaande, maar Tomoko lijkt nooit te twijfelen aan de houdbaarheid van de situatie. Daarin komt echter verandering wanneer haar jeugdliefde Ryota in beeld komt. Wanneer ze hem bij haar thuis uitnodigt begint ze opnieuw gevoelens voor hem te koesteren. Er ontstaat een driehoeksverhouding.
