Als terroristen de ambassade van Amerika in München bezetten om gevangenen vrij te krijgen wordt de vriendin van Charles Heller doodgeschoten als gijzelaar. Hij is computerdeskundige voor de CIA, en weet in de avonduren gegevens over de daders te vinden uit de databanken. Hij wil haar wreken maar vindt de CIA achter hem aan.
