De jonge Indiaanse man Thomas is een nerd in zijn reservaat, draagt een te grote bril en vertelt iedereen verhalen die niemand wil horen. Zijn ouders kwamen in 1976 om bij een brand en Thomas werd gered door Arnold. Arnold verliet al snel zijn familie en Victor heeft zijn vader al 10 jaar niet gezien. Wanneer Victor hoort dat Arnold is overleden, biedt Thomas hem financiering aan voor de reis om Arnolds stoffelijk overschot te halen.
