Ben ontwaakt uit een coma en ontdekt dat hij een auto-ongeluk heeft gehad waarbij zijn vrouw stierf. Moeizaam tracht hij een nieuw leven op te bouwen, met als enig lichtpuntje de vriendschap met zijn aantrekkelijke buurvrouw Charlotte. Maar al snel raakt hij diep in de war, en begint zijn overleden vrouw overal te zien. Doodsbang over zijn geestelijke gesteldheid bezoekt hij een therapeut, maar Charlotte denkt dat een helderziende hem beter kan helpen...
