De 42-jarige Rafael Belvedere, een succesvol zakenman, runt het Italiaanse familierestaurant in Buenos Aires. Hij kan zijn drukke leven, dat bestaat uit onderhandelen met leveranciers en telefoons beantwoorden, nog nauwelijks aan. Hij is snel geïrriteerd en heeft geen belangstelling meer voor zijn knappe vriendin Nati. Hij voelt zich schuldig omdat hij zijn oude moeder, die aan Alzheimer lijdt en in een verzorgingsinstelling verblijft, te weinig gaat bezoeken. Zijn ex-vrouw verwijt hem dat hij niet genoeg tijd besteedt aan zijn dochter. Kortom, hij zit middenin een midlife crisis. Wanneer hij plots een lichte hartaanval krijgt, beseft hij dat hij andere prioriteiten zal moeten stellen in zijn leven.
