Plotloze film waarin het rockgroepje The Monkees heen-en-weer worden geslingerd in alle mogelijk vage en psychedelische avonturen. Ze zijn hun brave imago namelijk beu en proberen er alles aan te doen om dat te veranderen. Bovendien reizen ze door een fantasiewereld om het doel van hun bestaan te zoeken.
