Nathan Del Amico is een succesvolle advocaat in New York. In het verleden heeft hij echter diverse malen geblunderd en zijn privéleven is een puinhoop. Dan komt hij plots in contact met de mysterieuze dokter Garrett Goodrich die hem voorspelt dat hij spoedig de dood zal vinden. Nathan begint een race tegen de klok en probeert het nodige weer recht te zetten.
