Okazaki Tomoya is een student die alleen gedwongen naar school gaat. Hij wordt constant getreiterd door nachtmerries over een wereld waar niets meer van over is, waar 'zijn bestaan' alleen een zuiver bewustzijn is. Op een dag wanneer hij onderweg is naar school ontmoet hij een meisje genaamd Furukawa, die hem vanaf dat moment elke dag naar school volgt. Okazaki helpt haar met het organiseren van de drama-club. Hij begint langzaam het leven weer te waarderen. Toch lijken de dromen die hij heeft meer dan dromen te zijn...
