Carmen Colson en haar echtgenoot Wayne raken betrokken bij de zwendelpraktijken van een oplichter, genaamd Richie. Ze weten de politie in te schakelen, die hen in het getuigenbeschermings-programma plaatst. Het is echter nog maar de vraag of dat Richie en zijn rechterhand, huurmoordenaar 'The Blackbird', kan tegenhouden.
