Na 35 jaar ruziën Max en John nog steeds, opa drinkt, rookt en zit achter de vrouwen aan. Al jaren proberen Max en John de reuzenvis bij hun meer in Wabasha County te vangen, maar het is ze nog steeds niet gelukt. Samen doen ze niks anders, maar daar komt verandering in als op een dag een nieuwe eigenaar van een restaurant zich vestigt in hun buurt.
