Na een vliegtuigcrash, wordt Claire Summers aangewezen om de vijf overlevenden te begeleiden. Sommige van hen beweren dat het ongeluk is veroorzaakt door een explosie, maar de luchtvaartmaatschappij ontkent dat. Een van de overlevenden is Eric, Claire ontdekt dat ze speciale gevoelens voor hem heeft. Net als hun professionele relatie overgaat in een romance, verdwijnen de overige overlevenden en Claire beseft dat Eric haar laatste hoop is.
