Simon en Mack, twee mannen uit verschillende milieus, ontmoeten elkaar per ongeluk in een wereld die volledig over zijn toeren is. Een enkele simpele goede daad heeft direct invloed op de andere. Hiermee wordt een kettingreactie in gang gezet, die hun leven en dat van hun vrouwen, vrienden en oppervlakkige kennissen voor altijd zal veranderen. Met hun trip naar de Grand Canyon, het enige rustige plekje op deze aarde, een symbool van rust en vrede, proberen zij hun leven weer onder controle te krijgen.
